Their style and sound reflect the origin of the late 70's funk movement and early hip-hop culture when people made music for their enjoyment.. The band boasts a grown yet fun appearance, sexy beats, and mature yet playful lyrics. The artists comprising S.O.S. are 2ew Gunn Ciz and DistantStarr as the two lead MCs, Steve Leevy on guitar, bass, drums, keys and any other instrument he can find to create production, and Ashley J. As a solo artist, Ciz’s latest effort is BC: The Designer Drug EP, produced by Brizzo. DistantStarr’s solo publications includes collaborations with Blu (of Blu & Exile) and future hip hop icons, Jneiro Jarel's imprint (who now has an album out with Khujo from legendary Atlanta group, Goodie Mobb) and recent work with international artist Jay Scarlett of Germany. The Manhattan native is also one half of StarrSkream, a team duo that includes Le N?ko of France. They’ve already fused cultures with various sounds to create a 20-minute mix, which is available for download. He also has an upcoming project with Kissey Asplund of Sweden with two singles available entitled, "Car Ride" and "Tokyo". Starr is 1/5 of the Rap Pack, one half of rap group MAGr and has even worked on the Reebok Future Generation album with Reggie B of Kansas City.

From Philly sensation 2ew Gunn Ciz to Gospel artist, Rasheem Shambry & AWAM, Leevy is mashing sounds to make unforgettable songs. With role models like Jazz artist Art Tatum or instrumentalists Johnny Smith, Thaddeus Tribbett or Victor Wooten to music legends like Prince - the Camden musician is currently working with Bronx native and super producer Buckwild at shopping his production.
As a newly formed group in early 2009, S.O.S. has not yet released an album but are creating a tremendous buzz with singles Made for This, Money Makes Me Sexy, Threw Em A Party, Spaceship featuring Nico the Beast and NikeSBs.
