Remedy born in Cincinnati, Ohio is a Spoken Word Artist, Songwriter, Writer, Actress and Model. But before she realized she was all of these, she was just a strong woman, a mother, a daughter, a sister, and a best friend and this is what makes her The Remedy. Remedy has been able to find the silver lining behind every dark cloud and she recognizes that some people are victims of bad circumstances and a bad circumstance doesn’t make them bad people. She grew up in some of the toughest neighborhoods in Cincinnati and is no stranger to the reality of tough times. At a young age Remedy discovered how powerful her words and influence can be to encourage change. Today, as one of the most prolific artists to speak, she uses her words to encourage, uplift, and motivate those living in life’s harsh realities. Remedy’s powerful pieces speak on everything from religion to political views; from heartache and pain to family matters. She aims to reach all crowds. Remedy’s performances at countless venues throughout Ohio has earned her a reputation as one of Ohio’s most authentic and well respected artists. Remedy was named the 2008 Ohio Hip Hop Award winner for “Best Spoken Word Artist”. Her Debut CD “A Dose of Remedy” has touched the lives of many. Remedy’s following Cds “Bridging the Gap” and Love, Life, and Remedy will touch on experiences from every walk of life. Her performances will leave you feeling inspired and rejuvenated. As a songwriter, penning poems turned songs, her collaboration with other artists has given her the leverage to expand her message to a larger audience. As a writer, her first book titled “Mountains for Stepping Stones” will tell a story that will move all ages. With Spoken Word making a strong movement, you can expect to see Remedy listed among some of the greatest artists to ever perform. Remedy will travel and continue to spread her encouraging messages in hopes that they inspire someone in a positive manner. Remedy is currently writing her first stage play entitled “Block Boys” which will give a realistic view of life as a street hustler with a compelling ending. Remedy is distraught by the lives lost at the hands of the streets and is in hopes this play will encourage young men and women to realize that every thing in life must change and with those changes comes choices and they must choose wisely.
